Start from a ready-made stack

New to self-hosting? Start here
  1. Rent a small server. Any cloud provider works. Budget roughly $5–20 a month to start.
  2. Install a launcher. YunoHost or Coolify give you one-place installs, updates, and HTTPS (see “Self-hosting launchers” below).
  3. Add apps and turn on backups. Start with easy setups. Test restoring a backup before you rely on it.
EasyOne container or one-click install. An afternoon.
ModerateSeveral services and some config. Comfortable with Docker.
AdvancedNeeds a developer or sysadmin to run well.

Licenses in plain terms. MIT, Apache, BSD: use freely. GPL/AGPL: free to use; sharing rules only apply if you modify and distribute it or host it for others. Dashed boxes are source-available: free for most small businesses, with limits.

AI agents. MCP means an official connector (or built-in support) lets agents like Claude read and act in the tool. API means a full, documented API an agent can call once you wire it up. Agent support is moving fast, so check the repo for the latest.

Convex. Component: an npm package from the Convex components directory you install into your Convex app. Native: a built-in Convex path, like login through any OpenID Connect provider or Airbyte streaming import. Via API: no ready-made integration, but Convex actions can call the tool's API and HTTP actions can receive its webhooks. Some Convex integrations need the Pro plan.

Licenses, pricing, and hosting plans change. Check a project's site before you commit.

Launching something new? We help owners plan the launch, build what it needs and get it seen, with software and AI handling the busywork.
